As someone who does chase Strava segments, it does annoy me when people blame rudeness on Strava. I don't chase every segment going, indeed most of the (bike) ones I have my eye on are uphill, and all of them are on roads.
I feel there's a kind of suggestion that wanting to challenge yourself and get faster and fitter is unacceptable behaviour. I'm not saying that "I'm training" is an excuse for inconsiderate or dangerous behaviour; but if I didn't smile and wave at you because I was trying to go up the hill as fast as I could, is that so terrible?
