Can anyone advise who is responsible for the maintenance of this path ? There's been a fallen tree blocking it for several weeks now with no apparent action taken. You can squeeze around the side but its a PITA.

How big is it? Perhaps if Dave, Andy & Uberuce are free for a few hours we could have a go out selves?

This was mentioned on the "alternative routes to Balerno/Currie" thread.

I cycled past it on Friday; it will need fairly serious tree cutting/moving equipment to move it.

The tree-cutting squad appears to have been all the way along the NEPN from Roseburn to Telford recently, but all the discarded tree-trunks are still lying beside the path, just waiting for a sufficiently strong and malicious squad of neds to drag them onto the path.

I'm doing all this Flickr stuff on my phone. Made an attempt to put it on the map - almost had it then I miss clicked and lost it, so gave up! I'll do it later, if I remember.

    However, the location is here:

It's half way along the path that runs from the top hairpin on Blinkbonny Road to Woodhall Mains. I'd report it to the authorities if I knew who they were.

I'm well impressed with this forum, I came along this path a few mins ago and guess what, its been sorted ! The tree is still there but it's been sawn up a bit so you can now follow the route of the path once more. Result :-)
