Poor woman can't remember if she fell and hit her head or was hit by a car and hit her head.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

"The woman is thought to have been hit by a grey-blue car turning on to Dalmeny Street from Easter Road."
Mmm
Seem to have been plenty of witnesses too.
Seems decidedly odd that they have a description of a car, and even where it went off to after the incident - does that not mean they've already got some witnesses...?
"does that not mean they've already got some witnesses"
Yeah, but they are looking for the one who was car-spotting...
But seriously, when something like that happens most people go into some state of shock and don't always remember (reliably) what they saw - so police need all the fragments they can get.
Should've had a helmet on. ( Hides under the table.)
"Should've had a helmet on. ( Hides under the table.)"
Best place for you.
You don't know she didn't, or do you...
it would be interesting to know...
"it would be interesting to know..."
Perhaps.
Assuming "no", it would add another case to the list for the 'you should wear a helmet' argumenters but wouldn't alter the (possible) fact that a car knocked someone over and ran away...
you're right if she was hit by the car and they drove away that's despicable behavior. The sad truth is that the car probably drove away because the driver had something else to hide.
I just realised I must have missed it by a few minutes, as I came down Easter Road today at about 25 past.
It is a grim bit of road, there are so many side streets with people diving in and out, and very few riders take an assertive position.

Only if they don't understand science (although sadly understanding it is hardly a prerequisite for having an opinion on science).
Personally I would suspect that a helmet was worn, as it is generally the first thing shrieked about if absent. Although perhaps the BBC are getting more sensitive to this sort of thing?
Interesting that the EEN hasn't picked up on this one - they are probably more likely to dig around for some kind of victim blaming angle.
