I'm not going down there! (or why buses and bikes don't mix on Princes Street)

Of course if Spokes had been listened to and space had been utilised to create a two-way segregated cycle path then Edinburgh could have had a world-class city centre cycle facility. As it is, scrapping with the buses is not much fun and the Council needs to wake up and do something with George Street instead.

It's ridiculous that a city that is allegedly aiming for 'model' status has absolutely no cycling provision through the city centre.

I came off on the tram track due to a bus recently. It was wet and I was moving super slowly due to uncertainty as to what the buses were meant to do ahead and one was barrelling up behind me. I crossed at the correct angle but REALLY slowly which basically meant my front wheel went "whooop".

There is also that horrific pinch point west to east opposite the princess mall which is confusing and REALLY scary.

I have to a crazy serve left, point right to cross the first rails, serve left again, point right to cross the second rails then move back to normal position when crossing the rails heading east at Waverley. Horrible if a taxi is trying to overtake...

Didn't that ill-informed newsnicht journo (or his rentaquote from the motoring lobby) suggest that there are roads so why can't cyclists just use them instead?
