When I write my hugely popular Edinburgh mystery series, it's going to feature a detective called Harrison Parker...

Will he cross the canal at Harrison Ford?

There was something on twitter, from the Inner Tube Map people I think, do to with a survey about a community garden at Harrison Park. I think.

I wonder...if I complained about that poster being put up, would they send a van round to drive into the undropped kerb and smash that down within a couple of days?

    Thanks chdot!
Not really sure what I think about that... so I not fill out the consultation. Sounds nice though :)

It's an official Council poster rather than a guerilla poster like the original guerilla garden so is probably safe from removal by the Council equivalent of a SWAT team. Perhaps local residents could cut out pictures of fruits and vegetables from magazines, draw smiley faces on them and stick them on the picture, which at the moment doesn't really indicate anything to do with growing things.

"doesn't really indicate anything to do with growing things."

Wotcha mean? Look at all that grass. Councils like grass. Much tidier than those "wildflower meadows" and 'neglected corners' for 'wildlife'.

And as for all those anarchic allotment sheds...

Ah, allotments, sigh. 6 years and still on the waiting list.

Some of you will recall that I suggested allotments on Harrison Park would be a good idea and was duly put in my place by the 'real' locals.

I'm not opposed to this, but there are already a LOT of community growing projects in the area.

After the Waverley was up and running, he and Sandra got involved with the Edinburgh Canal Society which at the time had nowhere to live, and once again he was a prime mover, responsible for building the society’s base and its boathouse at Harrison Park, and becoming its Boatman.
