Anyone else watching the World's this week ? 3 absolutely startling performances in the last 2 days but what a shame that the BBC2 evening coverage missed every one of them ! On the plus side, the trackside team of Boardman/Brotherton/Douglas has been excellent and I've enjoyed listening to the studio team of Jonathan Edwards/VP/Craig Maclean. Nice to hear VP talking about her day job for a change !

    Chris Boardman
Olympic cycling champion and BBC Sport summariser
"I can't believe the way Simon Yates looked after his own resources and the confidence he showed. He didn't over-extend, but he took some risks. He plotted all moves and knew which were going to stay away and which weren't. It was such a clever and mature piece of riding. I thought he'd gone too far back in the field with two laps remaining. Coach Chris Newton was absolutely delighted with his charge, jumping in the air."

Analysis Chris Boardman Olympic cycling champion and BBC Sport summariser "We have seen it time and time again. Great Britain race to their own schedule - they only race the opposition in the closing stages. They do their own race for the majority. They were full of confidence after their qualifying run, but the Australians came back and pushed them hard in the early stages. Technically it was an absolutely superb ride by the British trio. It's amazing how closely together they can ride."

We are now nine riders into the men's sprint qualification and nobody has broken the 10 second barrier yet. Bullen (AUS) leads with a 10.075

Have only seen this morning's coverage but was really impressed with the studio analysis provided by Jo Rowsell. Insightful and accessible. Perhaps heightened by the excruciating experience of listening to Jeremy Guscott's 6 Nations analysis all weekend though.
