Gavin Corbett said that he's onto the white-paint across the access points. So hopefully we'll see something happen. I think (not entirely sure) they're having to put a traffic order thing through to get the parking bay moved! Then they can paint a bit of white paint (there and at the other entrances)...

This dropped kerb has been a long time coming.
I was wondering what the views of all Harrison cyclists was to the use of the Diagonal Path. I've got some concerns about it, and would be interested to hear input.
    Thanks

At the lower entrance to the Harrison Park diagonal path (Ogilvie Terrace), there are always cars parked over the dropped kerb. Not that surprising as there are a lot of residents.

But it almost seems like the people who park there deliberately park their cars very close together in order to make it as awkward as possible for cyclists to access the path.

What do you think? If you live there, do you know of residents who object to cyclists using the diagonal path?

@creature @eddieh There have been concerns of residents about inconsiderate cyclists reported to the community council.

Probably the most pro-cycling person I know was almost knocked down by a speeding cyclist last year.

But given the numbers of cyclists, dogs, and kids, I've always thought it remained remarkably civil.

@CyclingEdin @SRDEdinburgh @SpokesLothian. Greens have now submitted proposal to Transport Committee re protecting access to dropped kerbs

Good stuff. Thanks @gavincorbett! But I'm surprised it had to go via the transport committee - can't it just 'happen'? Anyway, glad it's finally getting sorted.
