Thought this might be interesting to a few of you, esp. since it's for a local good cause:
How many families would you find crossing a continent rather than queuing up at Krispy Kreme?
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Been told by forumer that Halifax to Vancouver is not trans-Canada (!)
Angelo actually called it Canada Coast to Coast - I then mistakenly called it 'trans Canada'. Canada extends to Newfoundland - so a trans-Canada cycle could/should start in St John's, Newfoundland.
Not sure if Coast to Coast is right either - no doubt I'll be told shortly. This is what happens when you use other people's countries to cycle in! ;-)

If terry fox could run it one legged, then I'd think cyclists could too.
(if you don't know the story, do read about th challenges he faced. Makes Oscar pistorius' Olympic runs look like a walk in the park)
They are one month into trip. Having a great time and enjoying Canadian hospitality.

Young Olmo is doing the blog...
Meanwhile in Banff....

18 year old Olmo and Angelo (dad) impressions of the Canada trip so far. Ally his other son is in charge of tech and video.
They are just entering the Rockies now.
Not too long left to go (under 1000 miles?). They've worn out some tyres already.
Someone has to do it I suppose!
Good blog to have on your RSS reader of choice, even if only for the photos
They did it! (SRD said it was easy!)
After three months riding or reclining I'd need a period of adjustment ;-)

Still I'm relieved they got from Nova Scotia to British Columbia safely. (They missed Newfoundland so they haven't done all Canada really) Well done to them and nice that Olmo has taken time to write a bit every week. (making me even more jealous;-)
"They missed Newfoundland so they haven't done all Canada really"
What it means is they haven't done all of the Trans-Canada (which was the original claim made) - they'll have missed at least 900km across nfld.
But even if they did that, they'd have missed a lot of Canada - including at least one province (PEI) and Yukon, NWT & Nunavut, as well as large proportions of all the other provs.
Anyway, well done them for a good long ride on a generally unpleasant bit of highway.
