Amusingly, the tramworks being blamed for littering! Do tram works make people eat more McDonalds and discard the wrappers on the pavements? Or drop their fag butts at their heels? Or let their dogs crap everywhere and not clean it up? Not even I can jump to such a tenuous link.

Yes. The tram works are singlehandedly responsible for global warming, global cooling, the banking crisis (well, actually, hmmm), the threat of extinction to elephants and rhinos, black hole evaporation theory and the decline in the number of pirates.
