I've been looking at carbon bikes because... well just because. I read a review of Audaxy types bikes on road.cc and a few came to light. Ribble (good and bad reviews of customer service), Pearson (very expensive), Tifosi (no options really - just Black or white Campag Velosse) and Dolan Dual. I choose these as I want to keep muguards on all the time, not just those flimsy raceguards. They have my size in stock and I think I've convinced myself I want one. No cycle to work for me this year as I don't want to wait until August.

I just find myself liking the Genesis Equilibrium 853 but they are apparently only a limited run of ~275 and I can't find any info on them for sale anywhere... which is frustrating. I have a 653 Dawes so don't really want to upgrade to a 7xx Reynolds and think this bike will complete my stock of bikes. I may have to sell the MTB... :o( Depends on what SWMBO says.

    SHE Says YES!!! :O)

Clearly retail therapy time at the moment for a number of CCE-ers!

    I overdid it last year.

In the remainder of 2013 I'm going to concentrate on completing the remaining bike build projects; use various accessories and so on that have been gathering dust in the garage; and perhaps offload one bike to free up some space.

Oh, and ride the bikes I have. ;-)

I think I shall try to persuade my sister to sell or donate black fruity. Even if she does start to cycle at all, which isn't going to happen unless POP et al works, she's got no interest in retro and would rather splurge on an upmarket hybrid/roadie.

    Match it to your kit.

Or don't, if you need an excuse to buy new kit!

As I now have white plus vivid red and blue frames, I basically need a double wardrobe...

Red is proven to be 10% faster across the whole cadence range.

Also, the red shift as you go faster combined with a naturally red frame presumably results in infinite speed.

    Or similar.

What?!?! ... Really?? I wonder if its too late to call the sprayshop? I went for black as it shows the dirt up the least, though tbh I did consider brown after seeing WC's Kaff.

Well, carbon is black, I suppose. Maybe you should have gone for 'graphite' instead.

Metallic Yellow!!! Not on your .... ;o)

I considered red, or a light blue... I already have my favourite colour on a bike, orange so couldn't really go for that. I wanted something the dirt and eventual scratches wouldn't show up easily on. Getting everthing black, groupset, wheels, bar tape, seat...

Looking forward to ~4 weeks time when it arrives at work :o)

Bare metal is good - scrubs up easily and doesn't chip.

Bare metal on a 'soot' bike?? Its arrived, Yay, and only 72 hours after it left the factory with ParcelFarce 48... Dhoop... It went from Ormskirk, to Liverpool to Coventry to ... Aberdeen....???? and then on to Edinburgh. Bonkers!!! The note with the Aberdeen notice said 'Delivered to wrong depot'...

Anyway, the ParceFarce guy turns up, I sign for it and ask if he wouldn't mind helping me with it to our underground secure cycle room. No he can't 'elf n safety'... He wasn't supposed to take it further than 10 yards from his van and due to Trambles he had to park outside St James centre.... Anyway I tried picking it up and managed with ONE FINGER!!! [laugh!]

and now its stopped raining and its drying up!! :D
