SNP's latest PPB (from 2:05)
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
EDIT - they're not woodguards after all, just very flat plastic guards.
I like that it's not all tartan and shortbread and highland glens in the sunshine. I think that engages more with me.
The music is vaguely Big Country. Pete Wishart is an SNP MP. Coincidence?
Made in Edinburgh though!
Wonder if they'll do me some in yellow. I've not splurged anything on bikes in a while.
The music borrows heavily on Caledonia for the colour bits and the Bonnie Banks for the black and white. And, yeah, then it goes all Big Country.
Got my vote.
I'd have preferred Psychocandy-era Jesus and Mary Chain myself
Big Country only did one tune as I remember… and it was the theme tune from Z Cars.
Shame they didn't use a Paper Bike but at least it's not a fully suspended, no mudguard Hafruad's model.
The Big Country tune is from a Tennent's ad from the '80s. For the more mature voter this might be a confusing message.

Pete Wishart was Runrig, rather than Big Country.
At least there are no hoverbikes in the future. I guess the oil ran out afterall.
Isn't education a devolved matter?
Pete Wishart was Runrig, rather than Big Country.
Oh he and his brother Alan were definitely in Big Country to begin with.
Was that Tennent's advert filmed by the Chewin' the Fat cast?
Showing is age with steelworkers and coalminers.
Princes Street without trams!
I never liked the Caledonia one as much One Great Thing.
Partly I just don't like the song but it's also a bit negative. You can live in London and dodge using the subway if you want to. It's fairly pleasant to cycle around and there are lots of interesting buildings to look at while you do. Not that I'm planning to move back anytime soon but It's nice to visit with your bike.

I bow to your superior Big Country knowledge, K. :-)
