I can't believe FS comes into Waverley with ECS and just at sits at platform 2 for three hours before going back again.
Is there some sort of press event going on?
Edit: The people on the Rail UK Forum seem to think so.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

Trivia about the engine's designer.
Gresley was born in Edinburgh only because his mother had travelled from the family home in England to consult a specialist gynaecologist.
That’s what Wikipedia says.
I was under the impression he stayed in Dublin Street for a (longer) while.
Perhaps not.
NRS say his uncle was the curate in charge of St Paul's church on York Place at the time.

“
The informant was his uncle, William Douglas, curate in charge of St Paul's York Place.
“
Suggests his father wasn’t in town, so ‘chance birthplace’.
“
“That is why it is so wonderful to be celebrating its centenary in Edinburgh and knowing that this much-loved heritage icon will be seen right across the UK in the coming year, bringing joy and wonder to all!”
Alex Hynes, Managing Director of Scotland’s Railway, continued: “Edinburgh Waverley was honoured to host a visit from Flying Scotsman on such a special occasion and our team has pulled out all the stops for this special occasion.
“The most famous steam locomotive in the world always draws a crowd. Visitors to Princes Street Gardens, just across the road from Waverley, will see a familiar Flying Scotsman theme when the world’s oldest Floral Clock blooms later this year too. Make sure to pop in to see it while on your way to the station.”

“etc” - as in ‘might not cross The Bridge’
Steam hauled train just passed through Porty, heading into Waverley. No idea which engine.
“
Visit the Granite City of Aberdeen on this daytrip from Edinburgh steam hauled by LMS Royal Scot Class locomotive No. 46115 Scots Guardsman. The highlights of the day will be the passage over the world famous Forth Bridge and the attractive coastal line through Fife.

Overnighting in Joppa, be dark by the time it gets back tonight and leaving slightly too late for me to go see it tomorrow morning as I need to be in the office reasonably early.

The return of the Centenary Weekender
Stopped by Fenton Barns afterwards in the pouring rain, and picked up a couple of mortise chisels in the second-hand furniturey trinkety place, so not a bad little outing. They also had half a dozen Stanley no.4 Bailey planes, but I have one of those already.
