Small change, big difference

I finally managed to fit my old Terry saddle to my new cross bike. What a difference! Not only is it much more comfortable to sit on but the problem I had with the bike being too long and giving me a stiff lower back if I rode it for more than an hour has magically disappeared. Who could have guessed?

'Problem' is that it's now difficult to know which of the various variables made the most difference!

    I wrote this previously -

"I think a saddle is the ultimate in personal choice. I'm sure it's also one of the reasons that people are put off cycling - or at least cycling more than fairly short journeys."

This is only one variable though, a plain old saddle change. I'm just surprised at the difference it has made to overall comfort.

OK, but I thought you were saying new saddle altered reach, so wasn't sure if difference was saddle material, shape or adjustment along saddle rails.

Oh okay, I see what you mean. It is new saddle altered reach. I don't know what the difference is. Like I said, magic!
