    Serena Williams saved by bike!

    "The traffic was crazy and everyone was like, 'I have been here for an hour, and I'm staying like eight minutes away',' 15-time Grand Slam champion Williams said. "I'm like, 'OK, I'm not going to make my match'.
    "So I asked for a golf cart, and the hotel didn't have a golf cart. Then they were like, 'We have a motor bike'. I'm like, 'I don't do motor bikes'.

    "They said, 'We have a bicycle'. I said, 'I really don't do bicycles, but I will today'.'

    The American, 31, feared she would be late and said: "Riding to the match was probably one of my best memories ever."

    Another convert ? Fingers crossed. Wouldn't it be great see all the bikes parked up next to the players entrance at Wimbledon ?

    I was, like, actually reading that, and I was like, so whatever.

    It's 1.3ºC here just now and I ought to go out on my bike, but I can't decide where to go.

    I can't believe that such a litigious society as the US allows the sale of bikes without brakes.

    It's a cruiser bike, it'll have a coaster brake on the rear hub (pedal backwards to stop). Miami is flat as a pancake, so it's all you need.

    Presume it has coaster brakes? More common there than here.

    I was brought up to be snobby about them, but discovered their great advantage for little kids learning to ride - no need to try and co-ordinate hands and feet. they just brake automatically. definitely recommend them.
