I have to admit to having a wee chuckle at this after the chat about the chipwrapper and their use of the word "furious" in the Krispy Krack thread.

buried right at the bottom "it's always been a bus lane". It's just not been enforced. (Sound familiar?) The devil is always in the detail...

(I click on Daily Fail links with a clean conscience as I believe I have sufficient ad-blocking software that they don't get a farthing from my visit)

    Fave comment:

"As a wixams resident I can tell you almost all the 'facts' in this article are wrong! The detour is not 2 miles, it's about 200m. The restriction is not new, it's been there as long as Wixams, the thing that is new is the camera! The restriction is there for a very good reason, and that is to prevent commercial vehicles taking a shortcut through the housing estate! The only people who are unhappy are the people who ignore the signs and got caught out by the camera."

'There is no excuse for not realising you are driving illegally in a bus lane and it is right that we will take action to keep our roads safe for the majority of road users.’

    "

Think Lesley Hinds tried that line once...

Yeah that's obvious from the map.

    Details, details...

The two mile thing is bizarre. It's almost as if we are seeing some very low quality journalism, but that cannot be possible from a newspaper with such large readership.

    It's always a "money-making scam" isn't it! :-D

I see markings either side of the lane so there's no excuse for driving through. Strange all the photos are taken from one direction. Is that to make it hard to see the paint on the road (and perhaps that some of those round signs we see the backs of are exactly the same as the ones we can see the fronts of?

As you say chdot, the map makes it perfectly clear the detour is only a few metres extra. The article writer clearly hasn't the most basic of mathematical skills to see that claim is totally a work of fiction.

I'm sure some of the comments are hilarious but I've got better things to do with my life than wade through over 500 pieces of inane drivel.
