The corridor connection must negate any streamlining effect of the curved windows!
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

It looks like a Proboscis Monkey!

I hope that doesn't breach rule 1 - personal insults towards trains and/or monkeys
I notice First Class has been done "properly" (or at least differently from the TurboStars). The passengers have their own door to the platform now, so they don't have to rub shoulders with the plebs while making their way to their seats.
Sooner these get rolled out the better, ugly as they are the 380s on loan are much quieter than even than the 334.
I caught the train to Blair Atholl on Wednesday back Thursday, all four trains were very busy. Up was pretty bad, back I stood from Pitlochry to Perth on a 158 turbobus, two car set both completely full with every spare space taken by suitcases. Glad I was on foot no way the conductor would have let a bike on. The sooner Scotrail can cascade the EDB GLQ units the better.
I was lucky to ride on the first of ScotRail's new class 385 trains today. Fantastic. Quiet, air conditioned comfort. C21 rail travel.
Saw what I think was the new 385 coupled to a 334 this morning.
“
Today we're running a fully electric, full capacity service on the Edinburgh - Glasgow line! This is a major milestone in our commitment to increase capacity, improve journey times and lower our carbon footprint with cleaner, greener trains.
“
In other news from the same publisher, £1 billion to shave a few minutes off the drive between Blackdog and Peterculter: a distance of 20 miles. About £50 million per mile (that's 63% of the entire annual budget for active travel). Glasgow-Edinburgh rail is a more modest £19 million per mile (24% of the active travel budget).
“
“Highlanders, islanders, lowlanders in the south of Scotland need to work pretty hard to get their voices heard in Parliament, which is still dominated by ‘how quickly is the Glasgow to Edinburgh train running today?’”
