*points up* That's kinda it. Got to replace a sharkie-toothy cassette, and while I can easily afford the apparently eight quid the device costs, I'd rather just buy a CCE person a bun, or coffee or favour.

Sure, I've got a Shimarno one.

You have chainwhip too? And jumbo spanner to turn the lockring tool?

I also have one you're welcome to. My day is looking a little up in the air at the moment so you might see kaputnik before me but I can always sequester in my garden and you can collect it.

Similarly have, and can trundle past Summerhall with them after ten if you've not acquired one before then.

Kaputnik has beaten you to the punch, and I shall be plaintively knocking on his door in a dozen minutes or so, thence may bump into you in Summerhall.

Now, according to the customs of my tribe, I must follow Kaputnik on all his adventures until I repay my debt to him. Pretty sure the only tool I own that he doesn't is my boltcroppers.

@uberuce actually, I may have some stay-trimming use for a loan of a set of boltcutters

Serendipitous! If you can wait till Tuesday, I'll have swung by the Bike Station and selected replacement pedals by then.

I have committed a terrible crime against the looks of classic racers and Frankenbiked the bejesus out of black fruity.

You are not party to this abomination, I hasten to add, Kappers. I needed the lockring spanner for the MTBeam's ~1999 vintage cassette, which had done well but is now a baroque beermat. Or would be, if I could figure out a way of making it stable enough.
