    Well that's the title...

    "

Large numbers of children and adolescents in Canada, UK and USA are not getting their recommended daily dose of moderate to vigorous physical activity, and are thus more prone to obesity and its ill health effects. Exergames (video games that require physical activity to play) are rapidly gaining user acceptance, and may have the potential to increase physical activity levels among young people. Mobile exergames for GPS (global positioning system)- enabled smartphones and mini-tablets take players outdoors, in the open air, unlike console exergames, e.g., Xbox 360 Kinect exergames, which limit players to playing indoors in front of a TV set.

Let's not limit it to children and adolescents :-)
I've started playing Ingress (a GPS based game from Google, sort of capture-the-flag but with bells on, still in beta though) and am finding that a bike is the perfect way of playing.
    Any other CCE'rs playing it?

Well, one side effect is that it persuades you to visit places you've never been before, which is never a bad thing as long as you keep your wits about you!

    Bump
I've been playing this for a few months and have walked over 400km though a chunk of that we'll be cycling, got a BTR bike pouch for phone on cross bar with space under the water proof touch sensitive cover for battery pack for phone (playing the game eats battery) out also has earphones out rubber slot which I used to input solar panel cable run from panel tied to pannier.
Like already said it's made me go further and see and learn things about places I have never paid attention to before. Also meet lots of friendly geeks with monthly pub gatherings, talk tactics and plan control of the city...
I strongly suggest people with android phones give it a try, coming for iPhone in future I believe, join the resistance side if you do so I can help level you up along with mcgs who plays too. Give it a go it's very addictive.

I can vouch for the addictiveness, though I've not put in nearly as much effort as spytfyre. I generally only play on my longer walk commutes or if I've decided to go for a longer ride after work I'll swing by more out of the way waypoints.
