water bourne, I have recently aquired what has been described as a slalom canoe, it has a very flat low hull, and is quite thin, not a sea kayak. It has stickers on it and they say...
shadowfax and winter warrior. These are very 70s or 80s in my mind. I have googled these but cant seem to get any joy ! Any one on here give me any info or point me in the right direction ? Just like to know if they still exist etc etc.
Thanks, Scott.

Probably a slalom kayak, as you say. Generally fibre-glass, and designed to be relatively quick and spinny for white water courses rather than keep a line like sea kayaks. Probably has a very flat back end for dipping and slicing through turns? If it's a slalom canoe it won't have a moulded seat, but instead a central sitting block and some kind of straps or horizontal board for securing the knees.
They're not that uncommon. Most uni groups will have a few for white water slalom stuff I'd have thought - Durham certainly did. Not that beginner friendly, as they're not the easiest to get out of and tend to weave if you're not careful.
Alternatively it could be a polo boat. Shorter and with rounded rather than pointy ends.

all good, yes flat back, yes its very fast n turny, but might actually be too wee for my sons growing frame. Deffo pointy ends, has a moulded seat thingy but its very small, poss custom moulded. will see if it can be changed etc.Its very tight, his ankles and knees are jammed uncomfortably against the hull, its got thigh grips as well, if he dosnt keep trying then its prob away, he actually wants a sea kayak anyway!
It actually looks fast, even when just lying in the garden !

They always were pretty tight and uncomfortable. After all, you were only meant to be in them for the 5 minutes or so it took to get down the course. Dead legs were a common grumble (which made swimming out of them highly entertaining...)
