    Hi folks

You might vaguely be aware that I'm attempting London-Edinburgh-London in July. You might be less aware that I'm doing it with the assistance of a co-pilot on a Laidback-owned Morpheus tandem (the half recumbent half upright thing)

Copilot John normally lurks in Wales, but we're passing nearby on Sunday and thought we'd launch the training with a ride on the machine in question. Something gentle, about two hours in length, starting from Middle Meadow Walk at 1130 on Sunday morning.

If you feel like joining us, suggesting routes, or whatever, please do! We'll be the two on the funny looking bike...

If the idea is the get acquainted with the device and your interactions on it, then I'd suggest the NEPN and Cramond for miles of gentle carless testing.

@uberuce, good suggestion tho may be congested with Sunday picnickers, dog walkers, family cycles, walkers etc

The B road from kirkliston to Linlithgow is quiet on Sundays, this is where west Lothian Clarions run their time trials on Thursday nights. Should the need to open up the throttle become great.

Oh, I forgot to say: aye, I'll come along.

(crossposting from Twitter) It looks like Laidback has a tour on tomorrow, so if you're thinking of the NEPN, it makes most sense for me to nab the Morpheus today and stash it at mine, for I live close to the NEPN entrance at Russell Road, which is also closer to Haymarket than Bike Works is to Waverley. If not, then the Bike Works will store it for collection tomorrow.

For a day that started off so grim and rain-lashed, Cramond, the Morpheus and the Morphanauts ended up taking a good photo.

Russell Road tested John's fledgling(<5min) handling skills to their limit, alas.

I reckon the sun emerging like a benevolent Greek God is a good omen.

Tailwinds all the way come July. Definitely.

still, that start was waay smoother than the first one. clearly 5 min practice does some good.

And that was the only near-off of the day, which is a definite victory! Although I was calmer before I could see the front wheel movements...
