EveryTrail works again

One of my favourite iPhone apps stopped working last week. It uses the built-in GPS to track where you have been and can also place photos on a map that can be viewed on-line after uploading.

Unfortunately the new iPhone software update caused EveryTrail to crash. This problem has now been fixed and the new version takes advantage of the iOS 4's new 'multiple-tasking' facility.

So EveryTrail will continue to track without you having to remember to switch it back on after taking a 'phonecall or using another app.

It will be interesting to discover how long it will track on a full battery.

EveryTrail is also available for other mobile platforms.

The basic app is free but I haven't seen the need to pay for the other options.

I downloaded it aaaages ago for my Sony Ericsson X1 but it was not happy with the old .NET version on the phone
I finally updated the .NET to 3.5 (had to hook it up to the laptop I had newly rebuilt and was bored one evening)
It finally ran but as I am off bike for a bit I didn't run it.
Then the phone had a small accident involving a glass and some wine at the weekend and is now en route to the repairs dept (where I think it will be comdemned)
New one will be HTC Desire running Android or HD2 (Winmo6.5?)
Does it exist for Android? If not I may seriously look at the HD2 instead although it has a little less power than the Desire (desire beats iphone4 too I believe, oh and doesn't need a special handshake to use it)

Have you tried sportypal? it doesn't have the photo GPS thing yet but that is in the pipeline (and I prefer the mapping and the website layout to be honest)
It also ran happily while making phone calls and listening to music, playing games at the traffic lights etc but maybe I am biased anti-apple since I worked with the "computers" *ptoo* in schools for too many years and they are far from techie friendly

Yup Its there as well, doubt it'll let me test two at once though, Androids good but not that good. I suspect they'll both fight for access to the GPS.

"it doesn't have the photo GPS thing"

Well that's something that matters to me + the fact that photos are saved in the Camera Roll - if you sort the settings -

yeah that's why I said "it's coming in the next version"
it is also why I want to try everytrail on my next phone and was about to try it when my current phone died
you show the apple app but is it same for android and winmo? do they have exact same functionality?

    Pass

If it's not clear on the ET site, suggest you e-mail them.

(I e-mailed them about the iOS problem and got a response.)

Looks a bit different but then its possibly just the difference between the UI's.

Though it doesn't have the photo options but i don't know if thats because it have to sign up for an account or if its just not been added yet.
