Is it the rain? I came along gilmore place and NMW and encountered more idiots than ever before in a 5 min cycle. Pedestrians wandering heads down out into traffic across Gilmore place. Cars gunning it past me, desperate to get past. Girls, smoking, presumably heading to St Thomas Aquin, walking four abreast across the cycle side of NMW.

Of particular note were the vehicles desperate to get to the light at the Kings Junction, which ahd clearly just turned red. There were vehicles at funny angles ahead, and the red light, but they still ahd to get past me.

Saw one car pulling out, but unable to do more than nudge out into traffic. Noticed it had white stuff billowing out the door. Given where it was, I thought it might be a sari about to get completely ruined by rain and mud, so I zoomed up, stopped and knocked on his window. turned out just to be a voluminous plastic cover on the seat. the (male, asian) driver was grateful, but woman in car alongside clearly resented me having stopped beside him and accelerated like someone possessed to get past to junction - not that there was evern anyone else in that lane. Amusingly, she did stop at the ASL. I nipped past and stopped, only to have LB 10 'clip' the corner and nearly run over my toes, despite them being well inside the ASL.

Crazy morning all round. can only get better right?

Sorry to hear that. If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure that such frustrating days would be more frequent if you were trapped inside a steel box.

    edd1e_h is right :o)

I had a couple of "it would have been nicer if you'd been a bit further away" passes from LGVs, but nothing to rant about... I think you are right about the rain, it is the same when it gets dark, people can't cope with the extra complication.

Sounds better than my morning, stuck along side other traffic taking eldest to his grans then stuck in traffic on the bus for 45 minutes trying to get along slateford and fountain bridge.

I can't find dave's raindays thread. pretty sure this is first wet day of June though.

And probably the wettest I have been since starting to commute, as I was in 'normal' t shirt and shorts, with no change at work.

    Totally drenched.

"I was in 'normal' t shirt and shorts, with no change at work"

Where's the 'inappropriate dress for forecast conditions' thread?

Commuting #fail for me too. Left house in cotton t-shirt and shorts. I couldn't be any wetter if I'd fallen in the canal. Ah well - at least it's warm out there.

"I couldn't be any wetter if I'd fallen in the canal."

CCE already has a specialist for that activity.

    o_0 Good link!

I grabbed my water proof on the way out, glad I did marginally less wet.
