Ok, perhaps not anti cycling , but my local gym, which i get to use free because of my work, has no cycle rails or storage at all ! Perhaps because they dont like filthy mountain bikers cluttering up their expensive vehicle infested car park ! ( other cars are available !) So Ill be using it lots then !I chain mine to the lamp post, and they even open a side door , so i dont frighten the ladies on the spa days !
makes me laugh !

They would hardly be pro-cycling would they? They're looking for mugs to spend £60pm to ride a stationary bike while watching the telly, rather than spend nothing on riding a 'real' bike out in the fresh air.

You can cycle for nothing?!? I want my money back, the thieving bike shop swine!

Errr...
OK I appreciate that "spend nothing" may not ring all that familiar to many on this board. Least of all myself having taken delivery this morning of a set of tri-bars for the latest incarnation of n+1, which is going to be a TT Frankenbike.
The frame of n+2 (soon to be reclassified as n+1, hopefully by later this afternoon if all goes to plan) is also hanging up in the side passage waiting to be worked on later this year.
I sense s-1 may shortly be attained...
Should have the current project ready to race for a total spend of less than £100 even taking into account the "vanity choice" of a pair of tyres with coloured stripes to match my club kit.

Tell them you'd like cycle storage. Gyms are businesses. If they think cycle stands will attract more customers, or ensure they keep the ones they have, chances are they'll put them in.

Is that the Inchyra, Splitshift? I've seen bikes padlocked to the downpipe outside the swimming pool and one chained to the railings for the outside stairs (not sure its allowed if its a fire escape). I was going to ask about cycle security too. Could try padlocking bike to their spa advertising board to get the message across.
