My family depends on Whatsapp. My Dad (who doesn't have it) calls it what's up

I have 300 unread messages on whatspp, none of which are of any use

We used to orgnaise the route by email and that was that. Now with whatsapp all sorts try to change the time, the route, the coffee shop. It is shocking

Was good in the Dysynni Valley which has no signal

I'm hoping to ride to the Dysynni Valley in June (not from here).

    shame

Indeed, but this now means that anti-IWRATS can attend?

I may make a CCE awards trophy anyway. Build it and they will come. Maybe we should all make a trophy each? My award will be for the dryest use of humour in an off-topic post in 2017, but there should also be more frivolous categories like most informative poster, highest achieving campaigner and so on.

Dang - Mrs Morningsider will be sampling the delights of Arran with friends this weekend, which means that I can't make it along due to child wrangling duties.

Hope you all have a good time.

@ Gembo - if they are unread, how do you know they are of no use ?

Could be something urgent buried in there.

Man @Iain McR how could i possibly eread all of them for that wee nugget?

Best predictor of current behaviour is previous behaviour so given i cannot remember anything apart from when signal was down that was any use on whatsapp? I will delete.

@amir, lovely as you said before the Dysynni Valley is and when I stayed at Easter, many red kites.

I hope some people who couldn't come are going to come to make up for those who promnised they were coming and now can't make it? Or as I have said before, I am never organising another one. :-)

    IWRATS fantastic/what a shame

I had a vegetarian pithiver in the grey horse of Balerno with George Wilson the baker's son from Selkirk. This turned out to be a very nice bridie which George's boy found droll.

George's boy was invite to open the Selkirk riding of the marches one time when he was Lord provost of Edinburgh. Why have you come? They asked. He replied i come every year it is just this year I am opening the thing. Who are you ? they asked. He said George Wilson the baker's son. They said, that is all right then.

If you like the waverely and are willing to return on 16th June, if not up Forfar way, then you may well be roped into my recitation.

Pithivier is a sweet almond cake. It has no meat. What culinary hoodlum did this?

Chef of the grey horse, was definitely a bridie. But no idea why they called it a pithiver?

I will aim for a quick and early fly-by as I need to be up and about early doors but that usually means drinking into the wee smalls not this time though oh no.

    @gembo

I will begin recounting the Paolozzi Story at 19h01.

Sadly I shan't be there this evening with a 95% certainty but as I never doodled a reply I wont feel guilty.

If it feel appropriate at 9 O'clock to hold a minutes silence then I will be joining you in spirit from the zoo.

Quite a good turn out in the end, almost as many of us as was in the ceilidh band, bagpipes and uileann pipes in one session is a lot of pipes. Lovely to see unhurt, IWRATS, jdanielp, IainMcr, Bill, frisskiffia, Colin, Rosie, ChDot, rosie and chrisfl. Would have stayed longer but fancied the cycle home in the gloaming which was lovely too.

Looks like a great evening. I had to crack on with making torpedo transportation accessories for later this month. I think Gorilla Glue is basically expensive expanding foam.
