It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

To be fair that's how many canal users think of the bell at bridges. I've always thought the appropriate response to an 'I'm here' bell from the other side of a bridge is stop and let them out but apparently lots of people think it's 'ding ding so am I, steaming through'.
