Pleased to see the Spats available again - last time I looked Eager seemed to be defunct. Visited the "factory" once and they did a a pair to fit the shoes I had at the time.

Thread resurrection as depressingly I am in the mood to repair winter kit that I have purchased from the Edinburgh Bicycle Co-operative where after one single Gembotronic usage they have broken (n.b. I have given up getting any joy from that vendor - three times now an item purchased has failed after very little use, and I mean once, once and maybe four times respectively). Response shrug, contact maker, shrug, no suggestion, shrug.
So moving on, need to find a cobbler who can remove the girl bit of a boa button fastener and either re-drill the thread, or put in a new girl bit and sew it back in and then the replacement boy boa button I had to buy can begin to work. Anyone know of such a cobbler? (I actually have an incredibly handy friend who has fixed washing machines, down pipes etc and is keen on this third policeman intricate small work talking about resin and redrilling etc but I think cobbler better - there was a cobbler at roseburn that re-soled dr martens at one Time).
Second request, anyone got a spare bottom clip for altura small rear panniers? Fell off first use. The bit that secures the pannier lower down near the rear axle.? EBC despite selling a shed load of these bags which are actually too small for my ironed shirt to stay uncrumpled) decline to source a spare, just shrugging. Shrugging again. Shrug off etc.
Third is a sewing job which sadly the only needle I could thread with a big enough eye for the thread I need would not go through neoprene. This was a stupid sealskinz overshoe in luminous yellow/black dirt after one wear. Where I managed to rub off the stitching of the toecap by putting my foot down descending new street to assist with my stopping at the work side gate. This one I can sort with use of child or Mrs Garto, threading a smaller needle.
Fourth though mostly unrelated off now in rain to measure side door to the house as thinking of replacing with wrought iron gate as they do not rot. They do rust but I believe hammerite paint lasts a while.

SJS Cycles might have the pannier clip. I use them a lot for odd small spare parts. Very good service.

Resurrecting again. Anybody know what overshoes the Dutch use for everyday clothes / shoes? Can't find anything on Google and can't believe it's just waterproof shoes, warm socks or wet feet.

Are you asking about Dutch Galoshes?
I have just ordered new winter bootees from caratti. 8poumds plus 4.50 post. They last two seasons before the zip goes. Next order some new winter panties (blockheads reference)

having wrestled for years with the neoprene overshoes, I have in the last few years been trying these:

Oversocks slightly warmer, but don't' last as long and expensive. Whereas the overshoes are a tenner, so if they only last Nov-March each year, seems good value to me.
Neither going to keep you dry in a downpour, but on my 1 hr commute i never seem to get wet or cold feet.
Both are pretty to get on, even over my muckle feet, the overshoes are the least hassle of the two.

As a student we lived in Maryhill in a tenement and the flat had carpets with high nylon content. We drank some Thunderbird pear wine and I fell off the sofa and burnt my cheek on the carpet. My flat mate sadly long dead attempted to surf on the ironing board

@gembo - could be galoshes. I've got wellies already, so probably better to use them. Still needs a spare pair of shoes though.
@IainMcr - thanks for the link. Not really looking for a tight neoprene thingy, more something quick and easy to use.. Might just have to be blue plastic bags..
There must be a better everyday solution!

@shuggiet - the reason I like these is because they are not tight like the neoprene ones. Easy on/off in seconds.
