Defence rested on a plea of "it wasn't me, your honour, the car must have been broken".
If it had been a pedestrian or cyclist she hit, they'd be dead now.
She wouldn't be the first senior Police (current or former) officer whose opinions on road safety fall well short of what you would expect from someone in their position.
