Forth replacement crossing to cost 8x the original (in real terms)? Crikey!

BBC had a similar article this morning. They had quotes from Tory, Lib Dem and Labour spokespersons, sadly, all of which went along the lines of;
"We think building all these huge road projects is a fabulous idea and just what Scotland needs and we think we would do the same thing if we were in charge, but we'd do the bookkeeping slightly differently and that's why you should vote for us"

Well just like KB, i look forward to the parliamentary debate.
What was it that Chomsky said, again...
The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum -- even encourage the more critical and dissident views. That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate.

"
A number of major transport projects vital to Edinburgh and the Lothians are among a raft of improvements that will cost taxpayers a total of £7.5 billion over the next three decades – yet the Scottish Government has not made the figure public."
