    sadly, I feel the more I cycle the more I eat.

    I am told cross training better for ancient types like me (but running is sooo boring)

    Controlling your weight is simply a question of balancing calories in against calories out. The simple fact is that people are taking less and less exercise. Cycling and walking, used as transport, is an easy way to fit exercise into a busy lifestyle.

    The odd thing is that when they mention the Barclays Cycle Hire scheme, they only quote the fee of up to £50 for 24 hours, but not that it is free for the first 30 minutes.
