    Hello,

I'd like to get a bike trailer for the kids - currently I use a weeride but it's not good for long journeys as you have to ride with very wide knees. My daughter is 8 months old, but sits up very happily and I reckon would love it, and it'd be nice to get out and about as a family every now and again.

I know it's already been discussed on here, but the prices seem to vary wildly. The best seem to be chariot - they are well made and have suspension - there's also burley and croozer, but there are some other cheaper new ones now like Vantly and Bluebird which seem to be being sold by reputable places in Holland.

I'm wondering whether suspension is really necessary - it feels like a nice idea but I'm not sure - particularly if you can get hold of big apple tyres and the like. I reckon with such a small head, the chances of the helmet staying on properly but I'm not sure how to resolve this either.

I wondered also on the off-chance whether someone might have one that's just taking up space if their kids have grown up.

As always - any advice much appreciated!

I've got a helmet that our boy used at about 6 months, which you're welcome to. (has definitely never been in a crash, but can't promise it's never been dropped).

re the trailer - I'd go for lightweightness over anything else.

(might be in market to sell ours on/loan it while we're on hols, but this weekend looking a bit hectic already...)

    Hello,

thanks very much that's really kind - we have a helmet which works ok but tends to meander all over her head - it may be she has an odd-shaped head, or it may be a common problem. Do you know what sort your is? Thanks for the advice on the trailer too.
