  1. Possibly the most bizarre excuse I've heard for bad driving in a while...

  2. "The prosecution also told the court an eyewitness had heard her say "I'll run you all over", "I hate you all" and "I'll mow you all down".

    The court was shown CCTV footage of Ms Anderson in the car which was seen being driven into the shop before being reversed out and going forward several times on 28 April."

    That's one malevolent flip flop!

    Yet another case that a car has been used as a weapon?

  4. At least she's been charged with GBH along with the dangerous driving charge.

    "I'm sorry your Honour, my troublesome flip-flop caused me to change gear from 1st to reverse and back again whilst revving the engine....repeatedly. I've now given up flip flops and moved to crocs. Much safer." the defendant said (possibly).

    Interesting that this incident breaks down the gender stereotypes around dangerous driving, 'bother' in the street, etc. Some angry women in Brissle!

    Remind not to purchase a kebab when next in the south west. Poor bloke.

    Aside from the distinct possibility that the excuse isn't genuine, there are definitely some types of footwear totally unsuitable for controlling a vehicle, and flip-flops are right up there!

    @Focus - I'm sure I've read something about this...

    Before setting off you should ensure that...

    clothing and footwear do not prevent you using the controls in the correct manner

    So, even her defence admits being in breach of the Code's advice (should rather than MUST)...

    And, yes, it does sound as if her footwear overheard her threats!

    Driving motor vehicles appears to be our version of the 2nd Ammendment.

    What do you call a Frenchman wearing sandals? Philipe Phlop.

    Also riffing on the alleged, best joke at the fringe
