Doesn't the sentencing seem rather mild? Three year ban for that.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!

Yes. It sounds like the he chance of someone being seriously injured by her was very high.
Here is a driver who has been banned for only 9 years for drink driving. It has been a whole 14 years since she killed anyone after all.

"It is important that you learn from that experience - but unfortunately it seems that the experience hasn't really had that effect on you.
"The saving grace is that you have not been in trouble since then and for that reason alone I will deal with it other than by a custodial sentence."
This one mowed down and killed a couple on a pedestrian crossing after overtaking another vehicle in a rage. She has at least been jailed for a few months but no mention of a ban! And why was this only careless driving?
I would rather they got their drivers licence taken away for ever. Particularly the first one. I am glad the second was jailed, her behaviour was disgusting.
Generally I think that prison is a terrible idea as a punishment for anything other than violent crime. It costs a huge amount, is not particularly effective at preventing recidivism, and the damage to the person's personal life, job etc. often seems to be unfairly prolonged. I'd much rather that the criminal was made to do useful things like community service (cleaning up graffiti, picking litters on bike paths, using their skills for the benefit of underprivileged kids. Whatever) than getting locked away at vast expense.
