Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

This car chose to use the Roseburn path today. To be fair it was moving very carefully and probably had a good reason to be there.

It probably just wanted someone to tickle its tum. You see, there was this crash going on, and it just felt like rolling over, as you do.

A car rolled onto its roof on the central reservation during a crash on the motorway outside Falkirk.
The woman driving the car suffered "minor injuries" after the incident on the M876 near the M80 at Bankhead.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed the silver hatchback had ended up on its roof on the northbound carriageway shortly before 9am.
Traffic was brought to a standstill following the incident.
The second lane of the road is still closed while the vehicle is recovered.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area if possible and expect delays.

A car ended up on top of another vehicle in a train station car park.
The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon in Kirkcaldy in Fife.

The force said it is not known how the Mazda ended up on top of the Volkswagen.

Woman charged after car mounts pavement and strikes pedestrian in Stockbridge
A 65-year-old woman has been charged with a road traffic offence after a pedestrian was struck by a car in Stockbridge yesterday lunchtime
The injured pedestrian was taken to hospital where she received treatment.
A police spokeswoman said: “Edinburgh road policing officers have charged a 65-year-old woman with a road traffic offence after a collision on North West Circus Place.
“The incident happened around 12.45pm on Wednesday when a white Volkswagen Up mounted the pavement.
“The injured woman was taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service.”
What an utterly fiendish car! Should be put down after behaving like that.
School bus carrying 44 pupils overturns in North Lanarkshire. Must be one of those new self-driving busses; there's no mention of a driver at all.
These "struck by a car" complaints that are all pervasive.
You can't say "struck by a driver" which I would take as the driver getting out & fisticuffing. Everyone knows someone was driving the car. So what is the problem? How would you like this to be expressed?
Reading the paragraphs above I gather the 65 year old woman driving the Volkswagen was at fault.
@Rosie
Why can't you say "struck by a driver" in the context of the driver driving a car?
It is only implied that "struck by a driver" means the driver used their fists (or a weapon) because of the fact that "struck by a driver" is never used by the press (or anyone else) in the context of motoring collisions.
So it becomes self perpetuating.
In a parallel Universe, there is no reason why "struck by a driver" couldn't imply a car was used to do the 'striking' in the English language.
I remember reading an American cycling news/blog site where they used phrases like
"...the 65-year old woman who hit a pedestrian with her car in Stockbridge yesterday..."
only it was more like
"... John Doe, who killed 5-year old Jane Smith when he hit her with his Very Big Car on North Boulevard last September..."
I haven't got it quite right. It was well done, I thought, and quite thought-provoking.
Fimm beat me to the school bus story, which I just read and was left shaking my head.
400 words in that article but 'driver' isn't one of them. It's almost surreal.
*edit: I'm feeling sufficiently grumpy today that I've registered a complaint with the BBC regarding the article.
The BBC are the absolute worst for it. Also, they often write things like:
"A bicycle was in collision with a bus"; or,
"A cyclist collided with a bus"; or,
"A pedestrian was in collision with a car"
Implying that the cyclist/pedestrian simply rode/walked into the bus/car.
You'll notice that the article never mentions the 65 year old woman was driving the car when the pedestrian was struck. For all we know she could be another pedestrian who "got in the way" this "forcing" the car to mount the kerb...
