Car somersaults 20ft into sunken garden in Staffordshire

IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Car somersaults 20ft into sunken garden in Staffordshire
The next series of Britain's Got Talent could be amazing with all these acrobatic cars. They put the trained dogs to shame.
You've got to feel sorry for the driver, being arrested after your car misbehaves so badly.
I guess this video is the cycling equivalent:

A car has flown off a road and smashed through the roof of a house in South Africa's coastal city Durban, emergency services firm ER24 says.
"The driver said he drove over a ramp, and this led him to crash into the house in Kwamakhutha township, it said."
I suppose once he left the end of the ramp there wasn't much for him to do other than wait for the car to finish crashing.
Not spontaneously 'bad car' -
But maybe -
Seen ina report on the chap being hit by the tram today: "A 14 year-old girl was ‘glanced’ by a tram in the first week of operation, and there have been some collisions with other vehicles since then."
14 year-old girls are now considered vehicles?

"Driver cut free after car hits Dalbeattie house"
The article doesn't say what provoked the car into hitting the house. Maybe it said something insulting.

Unreliant Robin, surely?
3 lorries take over whole road:

Man hurt after car hits wall and overturns in Edinburgh
Driver? Pedestrian? Sleeping on the other side of the wall?
According to the EEN it was the driver but they are still clear that the car was to blame.
Or, in STV language;
I love that phrase 'left the road', as if it was an amicable but regrettable parting.
"Road, look, it's not you, it's me...."
I'm quite entertained by the distant periscope that the EEN have done of a column of smoke...
“There was smoke and flames everywhere, it was really scary. I could see the man that jumped out of the car shaking. Everyone was just running about in panic, we didn’t know what to do.”
From the photos and video it looked like what people actually did do was phone the fire brigade, and stand around watching. Everyone running about in panic?
Anyone else find it more distressing that a car from the 80s qualifies as a 'classic car'?
(Kind of like turning on the radio this summer and hearing all the music of my teenage years described as 'classic rock')
Shhhh!
(Mind you, I'd have described it as a kit car rather than a classic... The Phaeton was based on a Triumph Herald originally, and then the Ford Escort).
Suspect more the 'style' than actual manufacturing date
@SRD NO, 90s not classic.
Technically Classic cars (according to insurers) are over 20 years old; though the VED exemption kicks in if a car is pre-'73 (used to be rolling 25 years, but that got changed and the date was fixed).
Anyone else find it more distressing that a car from the 80s qualifies as a 'classic car'?
Given the description given by W.C. above, it's certainly distressing that a 1995 Rover 200 is now a classic car.

It's a straight road, how is this even possible?
Thought this may be relevant.

Why It’s So Hard to Treat Bicyclists Like Human Beings
We’re so used to the idea of drivers crashing into things, people, and animals that many headlines of such tragedies personify the vehicle, and in doing so erase fault from its ubiquitous operator. Cars confine empathy, especially while moving at speed. Cyclists and pedestrians become mere obstacles to avoid, or to not avoid once a motor vehicle and its driver are in motion.

"he was hit by a car which is believed to have mounted the pavement"
If the car says it mounted the pavement, who are we to disagree?
Just minding it's own business trying to park.
