Bicycle and pedestrian advocacy, safety and community
"
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

I like this - what I object to most about the NWC and the recent police tweets is the "us and them" mentality - the daily mail etc love to foster such divides on immigration etc, and of course bloody cyclists.
This actually promotes a simple ethic that we are all the same - just using different forms of transport... a sentiment which I would seriously hope softens the impatience of most car drivers. Obviously it's not as good as proper infrastructure but I approve none the less...
Excellent, also note no yellow jackets, ordinary clothes.
Suppose the vicar hasn't got a helmet as he thinks his god will protect him? ;o)
and the carpenter thinks her nail gun will protect her...
A nail gun...! What a great idea!
Any punishment passes... instant tyre deflation
What's a 'wide receiver' ?
A fast runner in American Football who catches a long pass from the quarterback. I suppose it's a bit like a wing in Rugby...
It's so much better than the NWC as it humanises cyclists.
(And doesn't suggest that cyclists are inherently annoying people you should learn to put up with.)
As a God-fearing cyclist I'd go for the nailgun too...
I've often considered a long handled paint roller, a "Caution, paint stripper" sign and zipties to mount it perpendicular to the frame.
It would prevent filtering, but that would be a small price to pay!

"It would prevent filtering, but that would be a small price to pay!"
Not for me.
My cycle trips usually involve a lot of traffic/filtering.
I have 'often' thought of getting one of those sideways flags but with a lever (or something) on the 'bars to get it to go parallel to the bike when required!
