Seems Edinburgh is full of people with Apple goodies who managed to aquire them without the store. I wonder if Apple runs its stores as a loss leader to keep up its brand.

Online retailers do also 'need' some stores to let consumers browse.
At the moment Amazon et al trade off the backs of others...But not for long...
Amazon are talking of setting up their own 'browsing centres'. You take a look, then you buy online...

Amazon have a pick up area at Braehead shopping centre. It's lockers of various sizes. I guess you get a code number to unlock one.

Amazon Lockers are all over the place and very handy too. U get an email (and text if you wish) with the code and key t into the locker's screen to open he appropriate door. Beats waiting in if you have one in easy reach.

House of Fraser has even gone all Argos. Use the Buy and Collect Service in-store. Yes, order online while you're actually in the shop, and presumably collect it there and then if it's in stock :-D
