If you were to design a cycle safety campaign, what would you do?

Aim it at the politicians as nothing will change while their pig headed stupid lack of vision remains.

Cycle safety campaigns seem to put some onus on us. Turn the spotlight on those doing and saying nothing.

Would it have been better for all concerned if they'd been on a segregated bike path?"

"Would it have been better for all concerned if this person was driving an HGV?

Would it have been better for all concerned if they'd been out their car and cycling on a segregated bike path?"

    Scene-setting scenes of happy/caring/smiley families/friends/colleagues.
Families walk downstairs for breakfast, groups of friends walk down street, colleagues walk through corridor. One of each starts huffing and puffing impatiently, complains loudly about the people in front being too slow then just barges past, pushing the others out of the way. Pushed-out-of-way people look appropriately hurt/troubled/battered.
Same pushing people are then pictured driving, with cyclist ahead of them. Pushing-people perform similar huffing/puffing/"get out of the way you're too slow"/beeping/snarling and do the car equivalent of shouldering impatiently past, only this time knocking over and squishing the cyclist, which is then revealed to be their child/spouse/granny/friend/colleague/whatever. Dolly zoom onto impatient twerps' crashing-horror faces with subtitled "don't be such an impatient twerp just because you're in a shiny car and think ten seconds of your time is more important than SOMEONE ELSE'S ACTUAL LIFE" or somesuch.

What Winpig said, but make sure when the impatient twerp barges past peds it's very clear that there is room to pass safely and/or no actual worthwhile time gain in doing so.

The mum has the same coat and the dad the same haircut as Sophie's parents in The Tiger Who Came To Tea.
