    Morning Guys!

I was just adding this post to put the "feelers" out to see if any other site members had registered for the Cale Etape.

Would be good to find someone to cycle with.

I have! There's a troop of work colleagues going up for it, 5 or 6 of us. Not going to be breaking any records, especially as I'll be on honeymoon for the 2-3 weeks beforehand. Think I put down under 5 1/2 hours to be safe, but should do it in under 5. We're trying to figure out where to stay, most places seem booked up.

Hi-I am a long time lurker and very occasional contributor to the forum. I did the Etape 2 years ago and stayed at Craigmhor Lodge in Pitlochry which was excellent and is geared up for cyclists (secure storage, early breakfast on the day of the ride etc). I am staying there again for the 2014 event. They do ask that people stay 3 nights but if that's not a problem then I can highly recommend it.

The wife and I were thinking of doing it but it appears general admission is sold out. We aren't interested int the charity raising "Pledge" ticket as friends and family are already suffering from "donation fatigue" from previous events.

Oh well, there is always another time.

Atholl palace hotel might have spaces, not cheap but again geared up for participants, you can just stay the Saturday and they let you back in on Sunday after event to clean up etc.

Tho was only 3000 when I did it in the carpet tack year. Guy I met at Kirriemuir audax said I would have done it in 4 hours 30, but he recommended not stopping just refuelling on the move. So not sure. I am not fast. The route is a good fast route but maybe 5000 entering is tht right? If so maybe no places to stay. You don't want to be driving in to Pitlochry that weekend if you can help it, well at the busy times.
