Not even likely to be a 'short' day, even despite it being pointless us being here. Two emails so far today, both of them just legal news services.
Pah.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Aye, I'm in work. And plenty things happening I'm afraid. Bah.
Me. Officially a full day, unofficially I will be allowed to go home about midday.
Just crossing everything I've got that the weather won't strand me in Livingston!
I'm a little disgruntled that I have to go back on the 3rd. We usually get till the 5th. Meh!
I'm in work today too - full day.
Not on the bike, though, due to a combination of weather and last minute present buying logistics.
Company half day but not for me, I expect a 3:30 finish.
I'm on the bike thankfully as it's much quicker than the bus even if it is hurricane against going home!
In all day, BUT I get 25th and 26th off this year. Woo HOO.
267 miles away from work...
There was hardly anyone at work yesterday either. And not just at my own work, it was very quiet on the way in. Someone had turned the urn off which was most annoying as I ended up pouring cold water on my coffee before I realised.
Still, off now until the new year which is very nice. I have made the gravy for tomorrow and am also souping and freezing some of the veg in our GIANT veg box which has to last for 3 weeks.
I was at work (and even cycled in - record speed downhill with wind behind me, not so much fun coming home) but it closed at 12.30. It was pretty empty before (lots of "out of office" replies whenever I tried to get any questions answered, so I spent the morning reducing my inbox from 170 down to 10, which means it was a Good Day.
And we had homemade food (by me, on Sunday) so that was good too.
Our office is sooooooooooooooooooo quiet. Rumours of getting away early. Which means 4.30pm... Still, could be worse.
No (sorry!). Still nursing last nights Cloisters hangover and not even going to tempt fate by looking at the blackberry for several days, hooray!
Woo hoo! Getting away at 4!
WC - do you work for a Victorian mill owner? I don't think 4 really counts as early on Christmas Eve.
Financial Services. Close enough....
What Morningsider said! Last time I remember working late on Christmas eve was when I was an impoverished self employed courier!
Not back 'till New Year here hurrah! Tucked up in the house watching the weather, prepping for Smudge jnr's second Christmas and not thinking about work B-)
I worked 9 - 2 today, lots of last minute shoppers buying wrapping paper, gift bags and sticky tape today. Shop was starting to look decidedly empty.
I decided against being in today. Had hardly anything to do yesterday and sent and received a grand total of zero emails. There was only two of us so I made the executive decision to close up and go home.
I'm in today, but I'm one of very few. I saw one pedestrian and one bike on the whole length of the towpath from Meggetland to Hermiston, and the roads were deserted. The only slightly hairy moment was turning on the shower at work to find it was cold, and waiting what seemed like a very long time for it to warm up. I was worried I'd have to have a cold shower. I guess I was the first person to use it since before Christmas.
Roads were reasonably quiet on my route, but still managed to pack in a couple of impatient passes by folk. Guess the Christmas spirit has worn thin (or there has been too much Christmas spirit....).
Office is cold, only three of us in, and not a single work email as of yet. I'd kinda set the three days in between as a chance to sort out filing and just get clear of loads of stuff. In reality I've been checking out deals on TVs in the sales online.
@WC - and in addition to the TV sales, have you perhaps been looking at the Archerfield Brewery and Transgression websites too? :-)
One thing about having the office to oneself is that the Internet is nice and fast...
Yes to Transgression, whereas Archerfield was an on-site discovery just before Christmas :P
TV thing is getting annoying, can't find one that has all of the features I'm looking for (and so so so close). Granted I'm at the cheaper end of the scale.
V. quiet at work so far today.
I'm back in at work :O( Its dead here, with ~3 staff out of ~60. I had planned to cycle until I saw the weather forcast. Got the bus in the end. End of last week part of our IT inftra was gubbed and when I arrived today I had to reboot the machine ~4 times before it played ball. It took until I had typed a lenghty email of complaint to IT and then hovering over the Send button for it to start properly. Worse still the project I was on was canned before the holiday period so now I'm just tidying up.
In work today and it was a morgue. One phone call. Did a dull job that required no concentration so could listen to radio on headphones.
Neat cartoon! At work but dusting and de-cluttering the shop. Even cleaned the windows. Managed to stay quiet so far today!
Have a nice selection of not quite new chainrings. Mainly 42 and 30s though!. Got one 70T and a 65T. One 53T and a 52T.
Mac playing the Tom Morton show on iPlayer which must be only listened to on headphones due to PRS regs. Good range of music and chat tho. Something nice about listening to a midnight show in daylight!
@LaidBack BCD of the 42s?
5 bolt ones - so pretty sure these are 130 BCD. They are middle rings that have been swapped out for 39s.
I'll double check tomorrow.
