There used to be parking here.

Spokes helped to get the double yellows put in.

There were 'promises' of a cycle lane uphill (at least).

This is a cycle lane here -

Given how much the white line and red surface have disappeared, it's surprising that's it's usually possible to filter up the side of vehicles waiting at the lights.

(Kilgraston Road heading north to Marchmont.)

My pet hate is the cycle lane at craigcrook road. You can hardly see it now but even when you could it was routinely ignored.

At least some of the Craigcrook Rd lane has been repainted, as I reported here. Not much to get excited about, I grant you.

We're now in 'couldn't make it up' territory.

Proof that yellow lines are more important than white.

So the bicycle sign is now even less visible than last month! (pic above)

Well a bit has been re-surfaced!

Presume legal to park there (if you've got a very short vehicle).

Still no spare white paint of course.

    Presume legal to park there

The TSRGD pt5 states that the markings must be continuous, and that the prohibition must terminate in a transverse line appropriate to the greater level of prohibition (per the earlier photo). So I suppose technically* the discontinuity invalidates that whole double yellow stretch.

    * though not guaranteed, per the case of Camden vs Minier.

This thread started with the 'missing' lane (not) on Market Street.

    And now -

(How long has this been coming?)

Chips almost disappear in the wet though.

Vital to make sure the white lines are repainted before they fade.

There is still quite a lot of red 'paint' on Gilmore Place, but it's obviously too much trouble to notice that the white lines need repainting -

Also too much trouble to fill in the pot holes. if there isn't traffic forcing me into the cycle lane I dont use it as it's so jarring.

Most cyclists going that way are turning right, so need to be in turn lane by that point.

re Market Street, I know it's just paint, but is there any reason why that dotted white line can't be a solid white line? (and, even if intermittently, a rubber kerb)?

Seems that the Market Street pavement 'needs' re-doing.

Seemed fine a few months ago.

Of course the warning signs and 'safety' cones have to be in the cycle lane.

Oh, and a completely missed opportunity to reallocate space and produce a segregated cycle lane - not that many pedestrians on wide pavement.

Agreed, that pavement is massive until you get to the top at the statue.

But then the council only 'apparently' want to encourage active travel.

My son said tonight 'cars are not very healthy, are they?'

How can a 9YO see it and the council cant?
