on ITV1 this evening - "road rage Britain", promoting again the exciting and salacious war between cyclists and car drivers - complete s**te if you ask me. Based on people swapping places, but the idea of introducing facts or reasoned discussion is not the point of this sort of drivel... incredibly frustrating - didn't watch much of it..... you think the road tax thing has been successfully debunked and there it is again

    Trailers were bad

On road tax that is a Sisyphean task despite some people factoring in lower vehicle emission duty savings when buying a car

Very frustrating, not in any shape or form was there an intention to defuse the tensions on the road.

I did, however, like the description of VED as "pollution tax" ... that's a phrase that could & should become widespread, and might make the idiots who start any anti-cycling argument with "I pay road tax ..." think twice.

I pay £260 VED on my car which is seldom used. Typically, I have never ever had anyone have a go about "road tax". Bah!

The guy that phoned me back about Horsburgh bus incident had watched it. I hadn't but said it was probably not helpful to civil debate...

His answer was that he wouldn't cycle in a city as it's just too dangerous anyway. Better to drive to somewhere safe etc.

What a depressing response - and from watching the documentary I imagine that he feels his opinion is vindicated….
