New event brought forward to avoid clash with Highland Perthshire Cycling Festival
The Scottish Bike Show, pitched as the first consumer bike show in Scotland, has been brought forward a month to avoid a cycle event clash.

Now set to take place from Saturday April 16th to Sunday 17th 2011 at the SECC, the show was originally set for a May launch.

When the show was found to clash with the Highland Perthshire Cycling Festival, event organiser Magdala Media switched the timings.

Rowan Mackie, founder of the Scottish Bike Show explained: "In terms of promoting Scottish cycling, it is important that both events have a clear and defined position within the cycling calendar.

  3. Blinkin' website doesn't give stand prices anywhere from what I can see. Will definitely be trundling over though. Maybe ride one way and train the other...

In the great scheme of things best to get the train there and cycle back. Altho the time I did the sustrans Glas to Edin route the wind came from the east rather than the predominantly westerly prevailing direction. There are quicker routes than Sustrans - starts nicely along clyde til uddingston - then takes in the joys of Coatbridge and Airdrie then onto what was a good path but has been reclaimed by train. Link to Bathgate and Pyramids through the country park which is nice then Livy, Calders, K'newton. The quicker routes that are equally non- scenic. Or the Canal?

So you have to pay £7.50 so people can try to sell you stuff?

    I think I'll give it a miss.
