Revealed: inside story of Lothian Buses dispute
Why has the EEN stopped anyone from commenting on these stories? External pressure, or an anti-journalistic fear of people speaking their mind?

Not entirely sure what some of these "top" people are getting paid to do, given the bus company and trams continue to run smoothly without the apparent attendance of some at work for extended periods and others spending much of their time involved in boardroom squabbles.
As near exclusive shareholder, what does the cooncil have to answer for for allowing it's company to employ so many highly(over) paid individuals on terms that means it is either prohibitively expensive or near impossible to remove them if they fail to perform short of anything but gross misconduct. As one of the top bus companies in the country does it really have to offer such generous terms to attract staff?
"Lothian Buses chief says Lesley Hinds broke rules"
A senior director at Lothian Buses has attacked city transport leader Lesley Hinds’ role in the boardroom row at the company, claiming she has breached standards rules for councillors.
Non-executive director Marjory Rodger said Councillor Hinds “has broken rules of governance, breached the code of conduct and overstepped her authority” in representing the city as the transport firm’s primary shareholder.
The dramatic intervention by Ms Rodger will add to Cllr Hinds’ woes, as she faces a 1600-strong petition by Lothian Buses staff calling for her removal from the transport convener role, and demands from opposition councillors for an official report into the city’s handling of the six-month saga.
A second petition is also understood to have been signed by 90 per cent of staff at the Lothian Buses HQ in Annandale Street, demanding Mr Craig leave the firm immediately.
Lesley getting rather caught up in all this with a general election she is standing in a few months away, timing couldn't be worse for her.

I think she's looking to stand in the Holyrood elections, so she has a few more months to play with.
Oh you're right, I thought it was the Westminster seat she was after. Timing is just marvelous for her then!

Embattled boss Ian Craig has been moved out of his role as the head of Lothian Buses in a major step towards healing a damaging management crisis at the £130 million council-owned service.
Former Scottish Enterprise managing director Jim McFarlane, who has a reputation as a troubleshooter, is being called out of partial retirement and will be parachuted in to the city bus company as an interim general manager, tasked with returning the firm to stability and rebuilding morale.

An independent report into the council’s handling of the damaging boardroom battle at Lothian Buses has cleared the city of any wrongdoing.
The report by independent audit firm KPMG found that the senior councillors and officials respected legislation governing public transport bodies, as well as shareholder rules.
KPMG’s investigation confirms that the council forced former Lothian Buses chairwoman Ann Faulds to resign after she recommended that chief executive Ian Craig be sacked, fearing a costly legal battle over his dismissal.
