Terrible. I really felt ill reading that. Condolences to the family.

Driving without due control should be treated the same whether it's through drink, tiredness or playing with your phone. Let's hope the sentence sends that message.

I'm sometimes asked why (when I have a choice) I refuse to stop the family car in lay-bys which are right next to the road, and instead turn off or wait for a lay-by which has an island between the carriageway and the parking. This is why. Edit: ...that's not victim blaming by the way. I just have a healthy fear of enormous lorries piloted by zombies, having seen what lorries can do if they go over the top of a passenger car.

They is a particularly charming detail of the man's injuries in that article. Hope his family don't read that. Don't the writers think of that when they write this stuff?

Agreed, Min. I didn't need to know that.

I really hope the lack of remorse he showed in the aftermath will be taken into account in his sentencing. He doesn't sound like a character who should be trusted with others lives.
