Neil Greig, director of policy and research at the Institute of Advanced Motoring (IAM), the UK’s biggest road safety charity, said that, in the case of the A809 in Glasgow, motorcyclists were the main issue.

“It tends to be popular with motorcyclists, and when you get a lot of those on a road, it will get a high risk rating,” he said. “So on that particular road, the motorcyclist risk needs to be highlighted by the police but also in education campaigns aimed at them.”

He added: “Certainly, Road Safety Scotland will be making motorcycling a priority next year, so that will go some way towards addressing that issue, but, generally, when it comes to motorcyclists, police enforcement is the only way to make them behave.

He can't blame the other road on motorcyclists though so does that need enforcement?

Course not. Road's fault that one.

I am alone in think that, if it wasn't Neil Greig, it might have read:

    "

“It tends to be popular with motor vehicles, and when you get a lot of those on a road, it will get a high risk rating,” he said. “So on that particular road, the driver risk needs to be highlighted by the police but also in education campaigns aimed at them.”

He added: “Certainly, Road Safety Scotland will be making driving priority next year, so that will go some way towards addressing that issue, but, generally, when it comes to drivers, police enforcement is the only way to make them behave.

If you substitute "black people" or "EU migrants" for "motorcyclists" it makes plain the degree of othering Greig is indulging in.

Anyway, a quick search reveals this map of Scotland from the RSF: I suppose the A82, A85, A909 and A816 are all made high risk by too many black people using them too (Sorry, I meant motorcyclists. I'm not a racist, honest. Some of my best friends are motorcyclists).

Oh, and according to the RSF, the main issues for road safety are road design young drivers (under 25) and older drivers. No mention of EU migrants (Sorry, I meant motorcyclists. Some of my best friends are over 65).
