    Spotted in The Scotsman today

    Queensferry to Dalmeny by ccbb7766, on Flickr

    Sorry for rubbish photo. Taken on a flight to London, just to remind myself to look it up later but can't seem to find reference online so posting the photo instead.

    Seems to just be some changes to the wee bit of path (NCN route 1 I think) linking South Queensferry to Dalmeny.

    Ages since I've been that way, but I seem to recall that it's not currently the greatest stretch of path in the world.

    Lovers Lane isn't obviously a cycle route, and best avoided because infested with dogs; plans would be easier to understand if they're obtainable.

    Second plan is more clear.

    Full details are here (They don't appear on the Edinburgh Council site yet):

    They are rerouting the part of national route 1 from Scotstoun Avenue to Dalmeny High street so that it runs though the housing development. I think this was highlighted at the time of the development's planning application.

    What confuses me is the reference to Lover's Lane which as far as I can tell is at the other end of Scotstoun avenue and as duncans says isn't an obvious choice to cycle.

    Indeed and it was highlighted by spokes at the time and discussed on a thread here;

    Any mention of when this change is meant to happen?
    Not been down there for a couple of weeks but last time I was past there was no sign of a new path joining the lane.
