Well done to all involved, good fun as usual though the comedy gig at the end could use some polish.

Always good to talk to folk, some how I ended up riding with the odd bikes :).

I have discovered I have absolutely no bike conditioning at all, my bum hurts as do my legs. I only done about 20km today and a chunk of that at walking pace!

Some low level images here. The marshals should be photo'ed more as they make it happen.

Did anyone do one of those Strava things where you can see all the riders (who had their Strava on)?

Opening sprint of the annual CCE mile race captured here; good initial burst of pace from IWRATS and unhurt but did they manage to keep it up?

More than 2,000 scientists and members of the public descended on Scotland’s capital city to promote and defend science.

ENews seems to have missed other events.

Well done to all involved in organising. Due to a series of (minor) unfortunate events we were without our big bike and without Mr Weezee so we pedestrianed on parliament this time, which was a bit like going incognito (hello IWRATS!). Many thanks to Kim for letting me thrown a reluctant walker into his Urban Arrow for the ride.

Good luck to everyone involved in Glasgow tomorrow.

(It was a very pleasant walk by the way, I'd recommend it. The cycle part of PoP always finishes too soon.)

All 5 Snowys made an inaugural POP appearance and it was excellent. Very well done to all the organisers and volunteers - it all seemed to go effortlessly which usually means a heck of a lot of hard work has been done behind the scenes.

It was followed by ice cream and an obligatory visit to the new Skelf bike track.

Really enjoyed PoP today with child and child's friend. It was a great atmosphere and very slickly organised - huge appreciation for all marshals and behind the scenes efforts. I recognised a few faces from the one meeting I attended over a year ago but wasn't sure you'd recognise me back, so too shy to say say Hi :)

Anyway, great day and delighted that the sun made an appearance again. The ride home always reinforces why this event is so important.

    Thanks again.

I love the cycle up through the park at the end, all the families wrangling weans, spotted a dad encouraging his wee girl to take a big downhill and family urchaidh. After the park it is back to reality

Very well done to all the PoP organisers for another terrific event. I've put a bunch of photos into the PoP Press Flickr group.

Good to meet piosad and i for the first time. Saw many familiar faces, CCE and beyond. I watched the March for Science come through to Holyrood then headed into town for a late lunch in town of tomato soup and flapjack, which really hit the spot.

Great to put some names to faces Arellcat, chrisfl, jdanielp, fimm and others, thoroughly enjoyed my first POP (shocking I know – but normally Saturday morning is Russian school time for the offspring so that used to take priority). And thanks to all on the HP ride, though technically a marshal I felt a bit redundant at times as the ride fairly marshalled itself at least as far as being in the middle went — thanks to the efforts of those dealing with the tricky bits at the front and back.

There is a stretch of the Royal mile, a dip almost before you reach parliament where everyone dings their bells as the road is smooth and the building amplify the sound. Any other day you are slowing to take the roundabout but on PoP you just go for it.

Kudos to fimm for some excellent shouting to organise the HP feeder ride and a good job by chrisfl, piosad, SRD and Mr SRD as fellow marshals. It seemed to go smoothly despite us acquiring a well behaved black hatchback driver for a portion of Polwarth Terrace due to odd traffic light changes.

I thoroughly enjoyed shooting away at the front of the procession for the first time and then being able to see everybody cycle past the Avengers' lighting cranes where I was marshalling on the Royal Mile. It was even more gratifying to recognise so many people: some from here, lots of Greens and various friends from over the years, some of whom I hadn't seen for quite some time.

Well that was bloomin' marvellous in Glasgow today.

Not sure how many were there but certainly at least a thousand. I was about halfway from the front and at the top of the High St I turned round and the crowd went all the way back to the foot of the hill. Lots of kids and a few balance bikes.

Good speeches from Anna Richardson (Glasgow SNP councillor) who gave an even stronger and more passionate version of Adam McVey's yesterday and Patrick Harvie (as exepcted).

Humza Yousef said he agrees that there should be more segregated routes and is disappointed that local councils are objecting to them, which is why he set up the taskforce. Also that budget is important. Up to him to deliver now.

Great speech also from Mahnoor Campbell of Al-Meezan, talking about the work they are doing teaching Muslim women to cycle (including Humza's mum and sister) and organising rides.

Good turnout from CCE as well. Chapeau to those that rode all the way there (HankChief, daisydaisy, eddie_h, Frenchy, klaxon, DaveC plus one other?). Also spotted/spoke to biketrain, i, kim, darkerside and sally hinch.

    Except at Sheriffhall, though, naturally.
