...and somewhere secure and visible to lock the rides then I'm easy.
That's what they invented Bromptons for. :-p
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Okay then, you bring the Brompton, I'll lock my bike to it!
can't do the meadows - totally off my commute
Stockbridge during day or Dalry/Haymarket/West End/Queen St mornings Trinity/Granton/Roseburn path etc afternoons and I'm there for a coffee
Bump!
Don't forget-tomorrow morning(Friday) Peters Yard 8ish.
Must make sure TBC knows since it was his idea..
Tomorrow 8ish I will be in the Black Rose on Rose street for my missus' birthday, but that hardly counts as a spot.
In the pub for 0800!? You're keen ;-)
(Hope you both have a grand day tho)
oh 8AM sorry that time does not compute
Surly buddy Min has just come to tell me that we are ON for tomorrow morning
i can confirm that Peters Yard will have been brewing for a full hour before our arrival at 8am.
See you there.
Excellent. Any chance I can do a quick 'face to camera' bit with you for the lights vid? :)
Hehe, yes there was a brief panic over whether it was actually open at that time but fortunately it is!
I'm going to get out of bed especially ;-)
And then recline over through the slow moving traffic and jay walkers and stray dogs.
I may even have lights!
The coffee is the best in Edinburgh and supplied by a guy down Leith Walk - Artisan Roast I think.

Bloody good job i shaved this morning then aint it!
I'm going to try really hard to remember this when I wake up!
What with my flying rendezvous with chdot this evening, I'll be getting a double-helping of CCE...

Artisan Roast is on Broughton Street and their coffee is well good. I think they supply a number of cafes, but they brew their own in B St as well.
They had a stall at George Square venue and owner was there and claimed he supplied a lot of drinkable coffee in city. (As opposed to bitter stuff with scum on top).
As featured on my home page a few months back - we should get discount ;-)
Nice place, but the guys working there reminded us of Brett and Jermaine - who we saw at the festival some years back but now apparently have a tv show. Also had to take my coffee back to have it reground, as their idea of a 'fine grind' did not work for my filter cone. They're also the sort of place that won't do a proper dark roast 'because it burns the beans'., Sigh. to each their own.
I remember the first time I smelled a cup of the filter coffee from Peter's Yard - immediately went there to try some of my own. It's pretty good, but not as good as it smelled....
Will try to swing by tomorrow as I work almost next door, but can't promise anything.
SRD, you'll be telling us that Starbucks is better ;-)
Of course we should be supporting the guy with his Pashley up the street but not sure if al fresco is appropriate at 8am.
Bit embarrassing as he cycles by having used a trike to bring his wares into town.
In fact he may be reading this now....
Algerian coffee shop on Old Compton St does a nice mail order. I recommend their spice coffees and their dark roasts, but their beans always mess up my grinder...
One of my Circe Tandem customers runs this coffee machine repair business. He gave me some great coffee and he's a cyclist too! Still had to use some cash for bike though!
Seeing as it is open before 8, and realistically I need to be on my way by 815, and I also prefer a longer coffee, I shall endeavour to be there at about 745.
So what time? And are folk meeting inside Peter's Yard or outside?
I hope to tag along but probably after 8am. Is anyone staying until 9am?
Cheers
