Has anyone noticed that on the path under RBS bridge at Gogarburn, someone has painted out the cycle/pedestrian markings in black paint. This was neatly done about a week ago with chalk markings saying 'wet paint' but also, interestingly, 'have not paid bills' or words to that effect. The problem is, in the wet, the black paint is lethally slippery. I think this bit of the path is owned by RBS. Any ideas to whom we should complain?

@Stiltskin raise it first with Clarence / Fixmystreet / Fillthathole. It will be fired off to the council who will determine if that bit of the path is adopted by council or not. If it's not they will pass it on to the appropriate authority and let you know (however getting someone to do something about it is another matter altogether!)

I believe those road markings were painted by RBS (rather than the council) and I am told that the fact they have been painted black has been raised with the appropriate people at RBS Gogarburn.

Still worth raising them with Clarence etc.

I've also heard of a chap coming off on them yesterday. Do take care there.

  4. Sounds like someone with a grudge about cyclists. If people have come off and got hurt, or damaged bikes or clothing or equipment, then I'd actually suggest reporting it to the police as an action that has created a danger. Not much different to putting tacks on the paths.

I'm going to put my money on it being a subcontractor that's fallen out with either RBS or RBS's property contractor because they've not been paid for the work they undertook.

I went over the painted-out markings last night - very slippy in the rain.

    Now fixed...

Grippy black paint has been put over the slippy black paint and new bike/pedestrian signs added in white.
