CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 16years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Described as "strategically important gap sites within Edinburgh’s city centre"
Gap sites? Caltongate, Fountainbridge, Shurbhill and Haymarket yes, but not India Buildings, St Andrew Square, Donaldson School, Dewar Place, Kings Stable Road, Quarter Mile, Royal Mile, St James Center
I'd describe the list of 12 as ones that will get through planning permission with no questions asked. Minimal tram contributions, minimal if any affordable housing etc etc
That's the first time I've seen illustrations of the St Andrew Square building - it's an abomination! They demolished one of the country's finest modernist buildings to replace it with that - truly depressing.
There's depressingly little being developed on anything but a small scale in Edinburgh that isn't a luxury hotel, Grade A offices or high-end "apartments" (for people too posh to live in flats).
